A media delegation on July 22 visited auto manufacturer FAW Group's Hongqi plant – located in Changchun city in Northeast China's Jilin province – as part of a large-scale press interview session launched by the province.

The Hongqi factory covers an area of 440,000 square meters and a production area of 158,000 sq m. It consists of stamping, welding, painting and assembly operations, as well as workshops.

It is understood that the plant currently employs 2,508 people.

The Hongqi plant has applied various advanced technology and equipment, established a model digital factory and developed innovation-based endeavors.

On the basis of increased production capacity and digitization, the Hongqi plant has enhanced its efficiency by strengthening the two-shift production management and balancing the mixed production modes for its four vehicle models.

In the first half of the current year, 42,735 vehicles were produced by the plant, a year-on-year increase of 640 percent.
