Northeast China's Jilin reflects on 2020 achievements

Jilin province in Northeast China achieved growth in its main economic and social development indicators in 2020, according to the province's government work report which was delivered at the fourth session of the 13th Jilin Provincial People's Congress on Jan 25.

The regional GDP increased by 2.4 percent in 2020, placing Jilin 20th among domestic provinces and autonomous regions.

The added value of industrial enterprises above a designated size - the statistical term referring to those with an annual revenue of 20 million yuan ($3.09 million) or more - increased by 6.9 percent, ranking second nationwide.

The province's grain output throughout the year reached 38.03 billion kilograms, ranking fifth in the country.

Jilin's fixed asset investment increased by 8.3 percent in 2020, ranking fourth in the country.

During the period, the actual utilization of foreign capital increased by 9.4 percent, 3.2 percentage points higher than the national average, and foreign trade imports and exports also developed steadily.

The per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents increased by 3.4 percent and 7.6 percent respectively.
