A stunning choreographed mass performance of 1,000 drones was staged at Youyi Park in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, on Oct 14 -- providing an electrifying curtain raiser for the upcoming Changchun UAV Industry Expo (CCUIE).

Under uncanny unified control, the performance teams were composed of scores of drone squadrons with flashing lights -- successively creating pulsating, multi-colored graphics.

These delivered a mesmerizing visual feast, with a perfect combination of lighting effects and technology -- paving the way to the CCUIE, to be held from Oct 16 to 18.

During the expo, in addition to mass drone performances at the park for three consecutive days -- from Oct 14 to 16 -- a 1,055 square meter science popularization and experience area will be built in the exhibition halls of the Changchun Agri-Expo Garden. This will mainly comprise three functional areas for visitors; meanwhile, drone stunt performances will also be staged.

The expo will have the largest exhibition area to date -- as well as the largest number of exhibitors, the largest number of exhibited drones, the most leading businesses among exhibitors, the highest level of exhibitions -- and of course, the most activities in the field of drones in China until now.

The exhibition area of the expo will total 41,000 square meters and the number of exhibitors this year has reached 176.

It is also the first time the Civil Aviation Administration of China is supporting the local government to host the CCUIE and it is the first time the Equipment Department of the China People's Liberation Army (PLA) Air Force is guiding the local government to host the event.

Furthermore, it is also the first time that Air Force drone teams to perform in different places, as well as the first time the Unmanned Aerial Systems Training Center (UTC) UAV application skills competition is being carried out in China.
