The 13th Northeast China Agricultural Material Products Expo, as well as the 3rd Summit Forum on Innovation and Development of Agricultural Materials in Northeast China, was recently held in Changchun -- capital city in Northeast China's Jilin province -- according to local media reports.

The event, which was staged in Changchun Modern Agricultural Park, kicked off on Sept 25.

The total area of the expo was 50,000 square meters and a total of 724 agricultural material enterprises from all over the country participated.

It focused on showcasing new agricultural material products including fertilizers, seeds and plant protection products, as well as small agricultural machineries such as plant protection machineries and aerial drones.

The expo set up a special exhibition area for products helping to reduce poverty.

Party secretaries of impoverished villages from over 50 towns and villages in Jilin publicized and promoted over 100 agricultural products, as part of their push to promote poverty alleviation through industry.

During the expo, the 3rd Summit Forum on Innovation and Development of Agricultural Materials in Northeast China was held.

It attracted the attendance of Chinese experts and industry leaders.

Views and experiences were shared on national policies, trends in industry development and a raft of other areas.

At the same time, more than 100 leading farmers were invited to the expo to discuss and seek cooperation with the exhibitors on environmental protections and controls, special fertilizers, high-quality seeds and the role of plant protection aerial drones.

The goal was to promote the reduction of costs and increase efficiency in agricultural production by new agricultural business entities, such as family farms and rural cooperatives.

Another aim was to jointly build a new green agricultural system and effectively promote the eco-friendly development of modern agriculture.
