The 15th Changchun Film Festival opened on Sept 5 at Jingyuetan National Forest Park in Changchun, capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province, according to local media reports.

For the first time, a screening event for international films was added to the festival. During the event, there will also be five main activities, including the Golden Deer Award, cinema forums and film screenings.

15 films, which have been shortlisted this year by the festival's organizing committee, will compete for 10 different awards for best film, best actor, best actress and other categories.

The event will use a combination of online and offline forms and has introduced advanced technologies such as 5G and VR. It is strictly implementing novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures and aims to become a more international and influential film festival.
