Nong'an county in Changchun -- capital city of Northeast China's Jilin province -- received top recognition for being one of the "Most Valuable Counties for Investment and Business" at the Second Forum of International Business Environment in China held in Beijing on Aug 30, local officials said.

The county received a glowing endorsement in the 2020 Assessment Report on Business Environment Development in Chinese Cities, issued by the Global Times Research Center at the forum.

The report said Nong'an county had achieved positive results in deepening its reforms to "streamline the government, delegate power and improve government services".

The report also said it had accelerated the creation of a market-oriented and international business environment and empowered the steady development of businesses.

At the same time, it also provided efficient service guarantees for the development of enterprises.

Zhang Zhizhong, Party secretary of the county, was invited to attend the forum, which was sponsored by the Global Times newspaper.

At the forum, Zhang and officials from other areas in China made speeches highlighting typical cases of business environment improvements. Later, he discussed China's current position in the international business environment with company representatives and economic and trade experts.

During the meeting, Zhang took interviews with media representatives, to promote Nong'an on larger platforms and boost the county's profile outside China.
