After two years of construction, the Shengshi automobile industrial park was opened at the Changchun Automobile Economic and Technological Development Zone in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province, on June 28.

Zone officials said the park -- funded by Changchun Shengshi Investment Development Group -- will make a positive contribution to the evolution of the Changchun international auto city, as well as drive the development of the province's auto industry.

With an investment of 360 million yuan ($50.87 million) and covering an area of 134,000 square meters, the industrial park has 53 modern plants integrating manufacturing, research and development and business functions.

It can accommodate hundreds of auto companies, providing services including design, R&D, production, processing, storage logistics and finance for micro, small and medium-sized auto groups.

Officials said the new industrial park is building manufacturing, logistics distribution, technology research and development, innovation and entrepreneurship and company services demonstration centers.

The first of 28 companies have settled in the new industrial park, according to officials.
