A double-decker railway train that will operate in the city of Sydney in Australia rolled off the production line on May 27 -- at CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles Co Ltd in Changchun, capital of Northeast China's Jilin province -- according to company officials.

Officials said that it was the first one completed of 17 trains ordered by the Australian client.

With a maximum running speed of 130 kilometers per hour, the train meets Australian standards and high-level international standards. It is safe, comfortable, energy-efficient, with a long service life, according to company officials.

They said that in December 2016, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles and its Australian partner Downer EDI Limited got the first order from Sydney for the development and manufacturing of 24 double-decker trains.

In 2019, a second order was received from Sydney for the development and manufacturing of 17 trains.

Officials said that to date, CRRC Changchun Railway Vehicles and Downer EDI Limited have delivered 732 railway vehicles to Australian customers -- making a major contribution to Sydney's public transport.

CRRC Changchun is a Chinese railway rolling stock manufacturer based in Changchun, which provides one-stop services related to the design, manufacturing and maintenance of railway vehicles.
