Based on its resplendent tourism resources and characteristic landscapes, it is promoting projects such as ecotourism, ice and snow tourism and industrial tourism. In fact, tourism has become a pillar industry that is being actively cultivated in the province.

Changchun, Jilin, Ji’an and Jiaohe cities have been listed among national outstanding tourism cities. And following years of development, the province now boasts 268 national A-level tourist attractions, including three 5A-level ones. Changbai Mountain Ecological Tourism Area, Changchun Jingyuetan National Forest Park, Changchun Jingyuetan Ski Resort and Jilin Songhua Lake Ski Resort are all hot tourist attractions in Jilin province.

For example, the Changbai Mountain Scenic Area is a national 5A-level scenic area, a member of the United Nation's Man and Biosphere Reserve Program, an international A-level nature reserve, a State-level nature reserve and one of the 10 most famous mountain regions in China.

It is located in the southeast of Jinlin province on the borders of China and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The main peak is 2,691 meters high, the highest in Northeast China. It is a typical example of the mountain-forest ecological system in the north of Eurasia and has the best-preserved natural conditions and the most biological diversity in the same latitude.

There are rich natural resources of Changbai Mountain, including 2,596 kinds of wild plants and 2,442 kinds of wild animals, of which more than 50 kinds are first or second-level protected animals in China. First and foremost, Changbai Mountain is home to Manchurian tigers.

At different altitudes, Changbai Mountain gives off different colors during the four seasons of the year.

There are 49 main scenic spots, including the Tianchi Lake, the cascades, the hot springs, the grand valley, glacier sites, primitive underground forests and an alpine garden.
