The third session of the 13th Jilin Provincial People's Congress opened in Changchun, capital of Jilin province on Jan 12, according to officials.

They said that a total of 483 deputies attended the event.

Bayanqolu, Party chief of Jilin province, formally declared the event open and Jing Junhai, governor of the province, delivered the annual work report for 2019.

According to the report, the province saw a year-on-year increase of around 3.5 percent in gross regional production in the past year. Industries including new energy vehicles, big data, AI, general aviation and food production all achieved rapid growth.

The report also set goals for 2020, including the project of an increase of 5-6 percent in gross regional production in 2020.

The governor said that this year the government will focus its work on seven areas, such as rural revitalization, broadening the opening-up process and promoting steady economic growth.
