It became known as the cradle of Chinese films since the country's first puppet film, science education film, cartoon film, long feature film and dubbed film were all made in the studio.

A witness as well as a recorder of the past 40 years of China's reform and opening-up, Changchun Film Studio has made a great number of classical films over the last four decades, including The Birth of New China, The Scientist Jiang Zhuying, People at Their Middle Ages, and 1911.

"Born in the revolutionary era, our studio grew up through the baptism of war," said Zhao Biao, chairman of Changchun Film Studio at a studio Party committee meeting in October, adding that they will stick to their people-oriented principles and continue to make good films that narrate the true stories of Chinese people and record the achievements of China's development for the future.

So far, Changchun Film Studio has produced and translated more than 3,100 films, leaving a lasting impression on the collective memory of Chinese citizens, especially those of the older generations.
