The final of Jilin province's "Maker in China" competition was held in Changchun, the capital of the province on July 30. Twelve teams from Changchun, Jilin, Yanbian and other cities across Jilin province took part on the day.

Maker in China is a national project of which Jilin province is a part of. Each participating province organizes its own competition. The competition aims to encourage individuals or companies to start up businesses or to come up with some kind of creative development.

In the end, the winner of the enterprise group was a contestant with a project named "intelligent identification + project", while the project "array free-form reflector vehicle laser headlight" beat out the other contenders in the maker group.

The winners will first be settled into the provincial business incubator base, and enjoy relevant preferential policies and incubation services. The government of Jilin will then arrange investment, management and technical experts to provide technical advice for outstanding projects.

Since the competition kicked off in early February, a total of 148 projects participated in the event, with projects covering fields such as intelligent manufacturing, big data, VR, energy conservation, environmental protection, new energy, biology and high-end equipment manufacturing.
