"Talents" is one of the topics of concern to deputies and CPPCC members from Jilin province during the two sessions.

They shared their views and suggestions on how to cultivate and attract talents and make them the main force in the province's revitalization at a panel discussion on March 7.

"More talents can be cultivated in and attracted to Jilin province," said CPPCC member Yang Zhenbin, a faculty member at Jilin University.

"Talents play an important role in the province's revitalization and education is key to their cultivation."

Yang explained that colleges and universities are the main institutes for fostering talents and Jilin province has such resources.

He suggested the local government should put forward more preferential policies to create an environment that encourages talents to choose to work in Jilin.

CPPCC member Cai Guowei suggested that cultivation of higher education faculty should be part of the national talents cultivation system.

He said local governments should offer more platforms and support to young people and encourage them to develop innovation and entrepreneurship careers in Jilin.

"The 18 talents policies released by the Jilin government are helpful in attracting talents and will promote the revitalization of the province," Cai added.

Besides policies, deputy Li Xiulin suggested that creating an innovative and entrepreneurial environment is also vital. "Better environments can make people feel comfortable coming here to work and staying longer," Li said.

Deputy Qi Songyu added that he wished more people would devote themselves to high-tech industry.

He suggested enterprises develop an incentive system to encourage employees to work on technical skills.

He added "Bringing the latest technological achievements of the colleges and institutes to the production line and testing whether they can go into mass production will help scientific achievements serve people better and faster."
