On March 4, CPPCC National Committee members attending the First Plenary Session of the 13th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference had a panel discussion on the work report and the report on proposals of the Standing Committee of the CPPCC.

During the panel discussion and in interviews, national political advisers from Jilin province remarked on the work report made by Yu Zhengsheng, chairman of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, commenting that it had summarized the achievements made by the CPPCC over the past five years in a factual manner and made encouraging proposals on future work.

The members said they would make concerted efforts and contribute their wisdom to building a moderately well-off society in all aspects and embarking on a new journey towards a socialist, modernized nation.

Jiang Zelin, a member of Jilin's CPPCC National Committee, said that the work report had given a comprehensive summary of the past five years and reasonable proposals for the next five years.

He had participated in a series of trainings for the new term of CPPCC National Committee members and learned quite a lot after listening to the work report of the Standing Committee.

Jiang also noted that the work of China's top political advisory body should adhere to the principles of focusing on the central task and serving the overall interests, continually enhance study and research to improve work levels and self-cultivation, strengthen communications and cooperation with other groups, and attach more importance to practical results.

Xue Kang, Zhi Jianhua and Li Longxi, members of Jilin's CPPCC National Committee this year, believed that the CPPCC had united and organized the people of various political parties, people's organizations, and people from all ethnic groups and all sectors of society attending the Conference to perform the functions of political consultation, democratic supervision, participation in deliberation of state affairs over the past five years, which has pooled wisdom and strength to realize the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.

Qi Yuanfang and Yang Zhenbin, members of Jilin's CPPCC National Committee, said that the report on proposals had made an objective and detailed summary of the proposals made by the organizations and members of the CPPCC during the last five years.

The proposals put forward by the mass CPPCC National Committee members, the democratic parties, the Association of Industry and Commerce, and people's organizations have contributed to making government decision-making sound and democratic.

In the future, members will bring out more innovative and practical proposals during the Conference.

National political advisers from Jilin province also had in-depth discussions on the two reports at the scene of some panel discussions of the groups such as the China Democratic League, the Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, the Women's Federation, and the Association for Science and Technology.
