Jilin province, with rich tourism resources, is welcoming a golden age in tourism brand building.

Jilin has made good use of its ice and snow environment to develop its economy. Last year, income from ice and snow attractions accounted for one third of provincial tourism revenues.

Chen Shouchen, deputy director of the Jilin Provincial Commission of Tourism Development, said "Jilin ice and snow tourism enjoys a reputation in China. Of all the ski resorts nationwide with more than 200,000 in tourism receipts in 2016, the first and second were in Jilin."

Ciluhua Ski Resort, located in Liaoyuan, Jilin province, has welcomed a great number of tourists from all over the world in recent winters. Yan Dongmei, office director of the resort, said "the number of tourists is increasing at an annual year-on-year growth of more than 50 percent. The local folk cultural activities of Northeast China that we organized are attracting crowds."

Jilin province is also giving the public a new visiting card --- "22℃ Summer" -- the theme of summer tourism promoted by the local government this year.

Chen said “22℃ makes people feel most comfortable. According to the date collected by meteorological departments, Jilin’s average temperature is 21.9 ℃ from June to September every year.”

July 22 was the Great Heat, the 12th solar term of the Chinese Astronomical Calendar, and represented the hottest day of the year. The highest temperature on that day in Shanghai and Hangzhou was 40℃, but the temperature of Changchun, capital of Jilin, was just over 20℃.

The cool summer draws more and more visitors to Jilin. Ms Su, a tourist from Shanghai, said "Changchun's summer makes me very comfortable."

The local government also attaches importance to improving tourism facilities and services. "We will improve publicity, infrastructure and market regulation to use the two brands to drive the development of Jilin tourism," said Chen.

"Jilin is making itself a leading ice and snow tourism province, and also a summer resort," he added.
